Executive Board 2020-2021

President – Allison Parker

Allison is entering her fourth year on the SVE PTA. She has one daughter that is a rising 4th grader at Spring Valley Elementary. She is originally from west-coast Florida and moved to NC in 1997 where she has lived in the Raleigh/Durham area, on and off, for 17 years. Allison has worked in the professional association/nonprofit industry for 10 years. She also volunteers for her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. In her spare time (when she has it) she enjoys gardening, reading with her book club, baking, and fitness classes!

Vice President/Classroom Liaison Chair – Shauna Martin

Shauna is beginning her third year on the SVE PTA. She two daughters at Spring Valley, a 4th grader and a 2nd grader. Shauna is originally from Virginia but has lived in Durham since 2002. Shauna has 18 years under her belt in public education. She taught middle school language arts for 12 years in Durham Public Schools and in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Shauna was also an instructional coach in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools for three years before becoming a central office administrator for two years. Her most recent role was Director of Professional Learning for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Currently, Shauna is taking a break from education and is now working as Senior Learning and Performance Specialist at Rho, Inc. Shauna enjoys spending time with her family–cooking, dancing, traveling. She is also in her second year of her doctoral program at UNCW.
